My family and are relocating from San Antonio to Oklahoma City and are looking for a family friendly neighborhood. We were looking at the Coffee Creek area. Is that a good one? Any other suggestions?

Coffee Creek is good we looked at a couple houses in there. Anything really west of Santa Fe will be newer with schools in Edmond or Deer Creek, both good. I would hang around the area until a train goes by, sometimes they can be loud even though the track is a couple miles away.

The more North and West you go the newer it will be and possibly get a little more land. When we moved up to Edmond we were surprised at how small the lots are, but seems like that is everywhere. We live in the Valley and like the area. We would like to move to somewhere like Fenwick that has a pool, but that isn't a huge deal for us.

We're in the Edmond/Deer Creek area and it's great. It depends what you're looking for...We're not in the middle of Edmond but we paid a lot less for our house than our friends smack in the middle of Edmond. It also depends if you have school aged children or not. We just moved here last summer so I've been in your shoes. I also have the name of a fabulous realtor if you need one. Email me if you have any specific questions. linwvr at gmail

We love OKC. I actually prefer living in the city itself, however schools can be a little bit of an issue unless you send them to private (after elementary). My wife and I live in the Putnam City school district up by Lake Hefner. Close to everything and roads and infrastructure that is already in place (as opposed to Deer Creek/Edmond). You can live in some neighborhoods on the south edge of the Kilpatrick Turnpike and still be in OKC as well, with fabulous access to the highway.

The area along Memorial (the feeder road to the turnpike) from Meridian west to Council is blowing up with development right now.

If you are looking for neighborhoods in the city, I recommend Nichols Hills and Lakehurst. We are currently living in Lakehurst and love our neighbors.
