Well I'll be commuting to work in Pryor most likely. How is Tulsa as a city? Is it enjoyable? What's the winters like?

Pryor is about 40miles 1-way from downtown Tulsa. Unfortunately, I don't know much the cities between Tulsa and Pryor. Tulsa, itself is pretty fun. There's a good live music scene up here and some decent bars to go to. I find Tulsa to be pretty similar to Ft. Worth.

As far as the winters go, I've been up here for the past 2. In 2010-11, it got as low as -11 (typically it was in the 30s and 40s for highs though), snowed 24" over the course of a week, and snowed a couple other times. In 2011-12, it only snowed once, and we rarely got below freezing.

I go to Tulsa occasionally for work. It seems like a pretty good place to raise a family: nice people, slow pace of life, and not too big. There's not a ton to do, but downtown is pretty nice.

The weather is a little nicer than Texas weather. It still gets hot there, but I've been there in May and June when it's 55 degrees in the morning.

Great town, winters colder than Texas but not unbearable. Gilcrease museum, downtown art deco area. Tulsa was the oil capital of the world back in the mid century. They call the area green country, averages about 45" of rain a year. Lots of hills and trees, enjoy the area.

I've been in Tulsa for a year now and really like it. We live in midtown and would highly recommend it. The drivers are terrible but there are less people than most Texas cities. Very good restaurants and bars on brookside and cherry street and blue dome district and Brady theater area... It's a fun city.
