So...anyone live there or ever live there? Looks like we'll be moving up sometime in July.

It's a terrible place. Your wife and kids will hate it.

The winters are terrible and you only have two seasons. Winter and road construction. No blue bell ice cream and it is illegal to bar b que in city limits.

It's widely known as the least friendly state for left-handed golfers.

Never lived there but drove over quite a bit while living in North Dalota. Fun town and check out surly brewing. They make outstanding beer

I will definitely be having a Prince party when I get to MSP.

Said party will start at a bar and I will invite everyone to come to my house and listen to some music. Then we'll play basketball and you can set fruity picks.

I live in Duluth. We usually wind up in The Cities about every other month. Once you get used to the cold, it's a great place to live.

SB you can e-mail me at warrenpcheswick@yahoo.com re: ABF U-Pack.

I lived there for about 1.5 years. I really enjoyed my time there and actually kind of miss it. The winters are damn cold, but if you layer up, you eventually get used to it. The summers and fall are great. We lived in St. Paul and I worked in Minneapolis. Watch out for potholes.

I was up there for three years in law school and loved it.

Progressive city with natural beauty. The parks along the Mississippi and at the lakes were great.

St. Paul has some old charming neighborhoods. Try Grand Ave.

Night life is ok as the twin cities are big college towns.

Locals are not as friendly as southerns but seemed intrigued with Texans and all that comes with the Texas mythos

Winter is long and harsh. Just get used to it and get good boots. And take heart, one spring arrives, early May, you won't fing a more happy group of people

Nope. Software...move is voluntary. I work from home and can work from anywhere so we moved to MSP to be closer to family.

What's with the sandals worn with socks? Has to be my favorite fashion trend right now.

Not a big fan of MN. Mainly the Mankato area. Hope you like the cold and maybe 3-4 months of relatively warm weather. "Minnesota nice" is a myth and Vikings fans are the worst. On the bright side you got a lot of lakes to go fishing in...

I wasn't even a little bit happy when I got 16 inches of snow on May 2.

Moving to Minnesota, you will be surprised by how many people go to bars and how many outdoor festivals there are...unless you are from Wisconsin, in which case you will be surprised by how few people go to bars and how there are hardly any festivals.

The worst thing about Minnesota is the invincible liquor store lobby, who have managed to keep a Prohibition era law banning the sale of anything more potent than 3.2 beer in grocery stores on the books. Also, they don't like working on Sundays, so that's banned as well.

Occasionally one has to make a run to Wisconsin, which is like the Mexico of the Midwest.

Sounds like Denver, which is where Sooner previously lived (and, Lord willing, will once again live).

I'm not sure how this is a bad thing. Colorado is the same way, with respect to only selling the good stuff in liquor stores. I prefer it that way.
