So life does go on once you decide to leave tx? debating whether I could go back to wi or not. even if its just for 2 yrs of grad school. Summers and falls are awesome, however, i'm not a fan of the winters or springs. I do like the milwaukee area though. Seems like a cool city to live around.

I couldn't imagine moving back to Texas, but I live in Colorado.

Chicken4life, Milwaukee area is nice...just don't live in Milwaukee county. Washington, Ozaukee and Waukesha counties are nice. I work in Milwaukee county and enjoy many things about the city but there is no way I would live there. (Grew up in CS, graduated A&M and left Texas at age 45--been here 4 years.)

Milwaukee area is great, wife and I live just west of town in Waukesha County in an area called "lake country" for obvious reasons. I'm from the Midwest so I've always loved the seasons, but she's from Houston and took a little time to adjust, but she loves it up here now.

In contrast to browndeere above, there are some parts of milwaukee county worth living in, but like anywhere, you have to know where you're at. We lived downtown milwaukee for a year before moving to the 'burbs and loved it - but we wanted space, a nicer house and the other benefits of living away from the city.

If you need any more info on the area I'm happy to help!

IowaAggie10, I know there are some nice areas in Milwaukee county, but those areas weren't affordable for us with the much higher property taxes and overpriced houses. We love the lower taxes and acreage we have in Washington County. It is also nice to not have to deal with the loons in charge of Milwaukee socialist politics. You are right, the lake country area is very nice. We have some wonderful friends in Delafield and Oconomowoc.

Alot of South Wisconsin is great...reminds me of Texas with more trees and hillier hills. Where are you looking to go?

Plenty of beer and brats to go around, for sure. The winters aren't bad if you get some snow boots and an extra layer of clothing.

I've been in Milwaukee for just over a year. No A&M club in town that I know of.

If anyone is interested in watching games, I am more than happy to set something up with a local restaurant / bar. I live downtown, but don't mind driving to watch games with some fellow Aggies!
