I will be visiting Portland on Aug 31st. Any good places downtown to watch the game (ESPN 12 CST)?
In town for a half marathon on Sunday. Any other good spots to visit is appreciated!

I'll give you a better response when I'm not on my phone, but the A&M club usually has watch parties. I haven't heard anything for the SMU game yet though. It's usually outside of downtown.

There will likely be a watch party for the game, but keep in mind it will be at breakfast time here.

Must sees around downtown are Voodoo Donuts and Powell's bookstore. Some pretty cool things that you will have to take transit to are the International Rose Test Gardens and the Japanese Gardens. If you can get a car, Multnomah Falls and Timberline Lodge at Mount Hood are pretty cool. There are craft breweries all over, so check out some of those too.

Our watch party will most likely be at Macadams Bar and Grill. They serve breakfast. If I'm not mistaken the game will be on at 9am. No one here is shy about drinking beer with breakfast.

what do you mean "make it into a red beer"?

After I typed that I realized that might just be what my family and friends call it. Like a Bloody Mary but with beer. We always drink those on the mornings we go dove hunting or when I am at my uncle's house. Sorry for the mix up- I need to look up the 'proper' name for the drink.

I have no beef against red beer, but would recommend drinking some of the great local beers while up this way - no need for alterations!

Went up to Portland with a group of mostly out of state guys for the Arkansas game last year...the people in the local club are awesome and made us feel right at home!

I will be passing through on the way to Seattle (from Dallas!) and will be there for the Bama game. Can't wait!

There should be a decent turn out for this game. This bar hosts a lot of other clubs too, so I'm sure we will have visitors throughout the game.

I'm glad I came across this thread tonight..I just moved to Portland after graduating with my master's degree last month and figured I'd be watching the big game alone. I guess I'll have to make the trek downtown to macadams! Hope to meet you aggiespartan, and some other fellow Ags tomorrow!
