What do you folks know about Charlotte and/or NC as a whole? Interviewing with a software company, several locations available.

Compared/contrasted with Houston.

We moved to Durham from CS just over a year ago an like it. Came here for my wife's work - she's in Chapel Hill - and i work in Raleigh. I can't comment on Charlotte specifically, but I think you'll find the weather cooler than Houston, the people are mostly friendly, and the "BBQ" is an acquired taste at best. The Mexican food also leaves a lot to be desired, but Chuy's is opening a few locations in NC so that's good. Great beer, though, if that's something you like.

There are a ton of outdoor options in this state, from hiking to skiing to fishing to going to the beach... Doesn't take too long to get anywhere, either, especially compared to Texas drive times. If you want more specific info on Raleigh / Durham, I'm happy to talk. Email username at hotmail.
