Looking to move the family there early next year. Any opinions on the area?

I'm just over an hour North, in Tampa.

Im 30 minutes from Tampa...Spring Hill. Just moved here this summer.

Sarasota/Bradenton areas are nice (have bad parts just like every where else). I currently live in Tampa but will be moving back to Bradenton next June.

Lots of stuff close by for the kids and close to world class beaches.

old people during the winter months are a pain..... but that's about it.

Thanks for the responses. Fla agfan we are looking between Lakewood ranch all the way up to the river. From what we have researched, it looks like the best area to raise kids. Have any thoughts on that area?

I own a house in that exact area and will be returning in June.

I live in a subdivision named Grey Hawk. Nice homes, gated community, zones for great schools.

its on state road 64.

From there we are about 20 min from the beach, less than an hour from pretty much any where in Tampa/St Pete. And less than 2 to Orlando.

We have four kids between 11 yrs and 2 months. Really I can't recommend the area highly enough. Absolutely love our neighborhood.

Great sports leagues in the area as well.

Live in Punta Gorda, 45 min south of Sarasota. Nice house on the water and gated. Nice small town.
