Used to live near Hot Springs, AR about 80 miles SW of Little Rock. Was a law enforcement ranger at Hot Springs National Park. The city has thoroughbred horse racing if you are into that. The season starts IIRC in February and goes thru early April. Been nearly thirty years since I lived there however so you might check the dates if interested.

Can you gamble at the tracks? Do they have slots too?

You could drop as much coin on the ponies as you wanted or were able to when I lived there. There was a constant stream of cars from Texas coming into town most days during the race season. No slots then though; don't know about now.

Did they have an active local chapter of Ags? The central Aggie Network exists but no one responded to my email.

You are likely in LR by now, so welcome and sorry for the delayed response. We live in the Benton/Bryant area and the Cebtral Arkansas A&M club is still here. I have missed the last few Muster gatherings as I have gotten together with old corps buddies to ski in Colorado. PM me and I will give you the names and e-mails that I have.

Well you poor *******. I'm sure you're there by now. I finally moved away from Arkansas about two years ago, and I haven't looked back. At least you picked the most polished turd, and decided to live in LR. Hot Springs (AKA Sin City Arkansas) is fun for a long weekend. The track is fun and they do have slots. They also have "blackjack" but it's semi automated to get around gambling laws. Do yourself a favor, get in your car and drive the 2 and half hours or so to Memphis and get into some trouble out there. That is a fun city. It's also very close to Tunica Mississippi where they have the river boats if you're interested in doing some real gambling. Good golf too. T&P. Good luck...
