I was just offered a job in Jupiter, FL and am curious if anyone has any experience living, or traveling to the area? I am figuring apartments are around $1,000 - $1,300/month (would obviously love to spend less) but if anyone has suggestions on where to look for housing (or where to stay away from), it is much appreciated.
Any other information on the area would be great. Thanks!

OK, I have a question...is the job in Palm Beach or Jupiter? Big difference between those two areas. If it's in Jupiter you're going to be surrounded by filthy stinkin rich folks. If you're talking Palm Beach, then that's a whole different lifestyle, and night scene. Don't get me wrong, you can't go wrong in that area of Florida...it just depends on your age and preferences.

The job is in Jupiter. I kind of figured that apartments would be a little more pricey there than in the Palm Beach area (I could be wrong though). I wouldn't mind driving a little bit to get to Jupiter if it means significant cheaper rent somewhere.

I would live in West Palm Beach and reverse commute up to Jupiter. Better night life and restaurant selection, plus further south if you want to dip your toe into the ridiculousness of Miami. I wouldn't go further north than Palm Beach Gardens, it becomes more retirees I felt. You should be able to find something in your range, maybe on the higher side of that range.

Edit to add, 1,000 may be the breakpoint for sketchy / better apartments for the area. At least that was what my SO paid for the second apartment, after balancing a Scripps grad student budget and things like neighbors, break ins, and responsive management.
