Anyone have any experience in the area? I am looking into a possible relocation and would like to get more familiar with areas to look at for living/entertainment/etc.
TIA

What do you want to know? I'm currently in Northampton, about to move over to the far east side of Nazareth, but I've been all over this valley the last 3 years or so.

I would avoid Allentown like the plague. West Allentown is ok, and gets better the farther west you go, but still not as nice. Bethlehem is kinda bi-polar. From US-22 down to the Lehigh River, not bad. The south bank of the Lehigh is where the old Bethlehem Steel plant sits, they're trying to revitalize it into an arts/music center. Some good times there. However, you go about 2 streets south of that, and it starts to turn pretty quick until you get to I-78, where it gets nice again (roughly Center Valley area). Easton is interesting, some things to do, and they're very successfully revitalizing downtown.

If you like being outdoors, this is the place. We have a lot of bike trails, hiking trails, the Pocono mountains are less than 2 hours away, Philly is about 2 hours away (as long as 476 doesn't have a wreck. If it does, you're f***ed). You can get to NYC in about 2.5 hours, and there is a bus service that will pick you up at various places across the ABE area and drop you off the Port Authority bus terminal. We have all four seasons, which is kinda nice.

The biggest downside is cost of living. It's just higher, and there's no denying it. Also, you will note that these poor bastids have no idea what Mexican or BBQ really is supposed to taste like. There's good food to be had, but kiss those two styles goodbye.

Honestly, if I were to pick a place outside of Texas, this would be it. But some don't care for it. There was another Ag in my office who couldn't handle the cold and moved out after a year or so.

Hope that helps.
