We're thinking about driving up there in July and staying just outside of town. We love hiking so we're definitely going to do as much of that as possible.

Any recommendations of things to do? Local restaurants, sites, cheap golf?

Lived there for about 6 years as a kid but haven't been there in a long time. The Garden of the Gods is nearby and is a pretty nice area.

try the incline in manitou, then spend the afternoon in manitou springs at the penny arcade.

the broadmoor is expensive if you decide to do anything but free to walk around; it's beautiful and worth the visit.

depending on when you go, the olympic training center is there and could be packed or empty, but still cool to see the different sites.

the air force academy is nice to see as well.

Manitou is nice, but there are a lot of bummy folks there. Be ready for that.

Could always go up Pike's Peak as well.
