Would like to get y'all feedback on a few things.
I need to rollover an old 401k and went down the rabbit hole of comparing different funds and their performance over the past 10 years. I compared Fidelity, Schwab and T Row Price.

Here is what I came up with

Fidelity

Schwab

T Rowe Price

Fidelity has the highest expense ratio, but it also has the highest 10 yr return. Should I stick with them or venture out to someone else? Need to look at Vanguard next I suppose.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm assuming you're rolling to an IRA? Why are you stuck with these options?

Yes. Rolling into traditional IRA.
Guess I'm not stuck with these, but they are companies we have other accounts with.

Should I not go with a targeted date fund? Seeing how these perform against the S&P 500 with their $10k example isn't the best selling tool they have to promote!

When do you plan to retire? TDF are generally overly conservative for long term retirement goals.

Probably around 2050.

That's quite a long time. Some would say go 100% stocks and don't look back, use a broad market index either for the total stock market or the s&p500. TDF is a fine option for many, especially those that may be less savvy or never spend the time on this stuff. But I think you've kind of passed those hurdles by posting what you did here.

You could always do a split, 80/20 total stock market fund/TDF, to hedge. If you're worried about return I would do that kind of ratio.*

Look at the performance of the bond market this past year and ask yourself why bonds are considered safe. The stock market is on sale, it my continue down, or not. Pick an index fund, or better yet, an index ETF.

Fidelity and Vanguard are fairly similar nowadays and both have funds with far lower expense ratios than the TDFs.

Edit: winky face was unintentional

With that long before retirement, I'd do the following:

70% Total US Stock Index Fund
20% Total International Stock Index Fund
10% Total Bond Market Index Fund

But so much depends on your overall strategy, your risk comfort/tolerance, and other retirement accounts structure. I am not a financial professional, so I would recommend seeking advise from someone who has a holistic view of your financial situation.

Agree with all of this. That's a fine 30 year setting.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'll look into to other options
