How long do you want to ignore this user?
I have reached the point of no return...I need a password organizer. Give me your best recommendations PLEASE!!!

I did a quick check on passwords and this is just on a [ Signing in every few months basis ]

No requirements passwords
- approximately 5

Capital or Number requirements
- approximately 30 I use often. There is a chance i have another 30 I only use once per year.

Special character requirements
- over 15 just at work

Now we are starting to do double verification...holy crap am i overloaded with passwords.

I use keepass. Not a cloud solution and will generate new password based on previous passwords.

I store on onedrive and then I can access the file from more than one laptop.

I keep everything in my Apple password manager (looks like it's officially called iCloud Keychain).

I use Keeper.

With FaceID on my phone and my fingerprint on my laptop.

I tell my wife she is going to need to cut off my right index finger and research the 90's flick FaceOff If I die suddenly.

With all of the varying requirements, I doubt it unless it's overly complicated

Not overly complicated. And the requirements have been the same for a decade. 8-10 characters. Capital letter. Special character.

And that is how you get every account you own hacked when one of them has a data breach.

I highly recommend Keepass, been using it for years. I keep the data file in Dropbox, like was mentioned regarding Onedrive. Keeps it accessible from everywhere, plus it resides in my Dropbox folder on my computer AND in Dropbox in case my computer crashes.

If you lose your Keepass password that would be bad. Real bad. BUT, the idea is to use a complex password, yet something you can remember. That's pretty much how most of them work...only one master password to remember.

I've been using LastPass for years. Works well. They had a security breach, but seem to have been proactive and transparent about it. I don't think anybody's passwords were affected.

Keepass also lets you use a file (like a family photo JPG) in conjunction a password. Also, with Keepass, it uses the password (or file data) as the seed value for the encryption, so using a ~110kb file essentially gives you a crazy-long password.

Everyone has 1000's of photos so to steal your passwords, they also have to know which photo they need to copy and use. It gives you confidence in using a shorter, easier password.

Google Chrome password manager. Syncs across chrome on all of my devices and syncs seemlessly with iOS. It's also free.

I was in the same place you were not too long ago. I was overrun with passwords to the point of it stressing me out (you have to login to order a pizza these days).

I use Bitwarden and love it. It has an app for your phone and extensions for your browser that are intuitive. You set a master password which can also include MFA for added protection. You receive a recovery phrase in case you lose your password or something happens to you.

I've got it written down in my safe for if the worst case scenario happens and told my wife that it has all of the accounts needed in an emergency situation (financial, utilities, etc) . I like the peace of mind that my family could easily get into all of the dozens of accounts we have with only one password manager.

Not true. I have plenty that are simply alphanumeric. No caps no symbol But I see what you're saying. I guess doing that would cover most requirements… but also the length of the password . Some require longer and some only have so much space

I wouldn't count on that. If you want to stay with LastPass, at a minimum change your master password as well as any email and financial site passwords. For anyone else use Bitwarden, 1Password, Dashlane or Kepass. They are all solid. Once you get the hang of it, it's so easy.

Bitwarden and it's easy to switch from LastPass who I fired.

Those if you paying for LastPass...you don't have to.

Bitwarden keeps everything on the cloud. That's a showstopper for me. Give me local storage, please. I can manage backups...

https://bitwarden.com/help/data-storage/
Bitwarden processes and stores all data securely in the Microsoft Azure Cloud in the US using services that are managed by the team at Microsoft. Since Bitwarden only uses service offerings provided by Azure, there is no server infrastructure to manage and maintain. All uptime, scalability, security updates, and guarantees are backed by Microsoft and their cloud infrastructure. Review the documentation for more detail.

1password.com

I pay for it.

It's awesome.

I enter one password into the browser plug-in.

It auto fills username and password to any website I use.

I have passwords I don't even know and I often use it's randomly generated passwords for new accounts. I don't have to think about it. Saves me time and energy.

Appreciate this but password auto fill is half the battle. With as many passwords as I have, and I make them all crazy, in no way do I want to spend time looking up every PW manually.

So guess that's the trade off.

It's stored encrypted. If you have a decent master password you should be good even if they got hacked. LastPass had an issue where most of the data was stored encrypted but seems like some URLs weren't. I actually trust them and MS to keep their crap more up to date and secure than I do my own family and them exposing local NAS setups.

Keepass. Store the file in the cloud and you have access to it anywhere. You can also store it on a thumb drive in case the cloud goes down. It works across all operating systems: linux, windows, mac, phones (ios and android). The best part is it is open source and you don't have to worry about it disappearing because it is unprofitable. I have had great software disappear because it was not making a profit. It has been around a long time and stable. I want stable (it was started in 2003) and secure as a priority. The UI is of lesser importance.

LastPass is dead software walking. If you haven't already gotten off their insecure platform, do it now because they won't be around in 6 months.

I found bitwarden a bit too cumbersome.

1Password seems to work the best for me.

Related to a previous post -- the problem with the "standard password requirements" is that many sites require a chance in password every XX days.
