Just think, the federal government spends 3 of the 747 stacks annually.

May I suggest you tap the brakes just a bit? To state the Boomers are responsible for this is just not plausible. For years, government bureaucrats have never ceased to spend like a drunkin' sailor. Yes, Boomers are in charge, and they can't seem to get it right when it comes to spending. But I submit, the next generation will just be as bad. We are so messed up right now.

We've been spending like crazy (both parties) and cutting taxes for top earners and corporations like crazy. All a recipe for a giant deficit.

For everyone, here is reminder on what the federal government is spending on before we start bickering about "well your side would spend it here!" crap

No doubt both parties have played a role. But we have a spending problem, not a revenue problem.

It is a fallacy to say they have been aggressively cutting taxes especially for corporations. It is correct that the marginal rate has come down but they eliminated a lot of loopholes and expanded the income subject to taxes. We had the worst system possible because we had low taxes collected while having a high marginal tax rate which is what is used to make decisions.

It's the 80/20 rule. If you are broke, it's 80% spending / 20% revenue. True for your personal finances and true for government. It's like weight loss. It's 80% what you eat / 20% exercise. No matter how great you are at the 20% thing, if you don't address the 80% you won't solve the problem.

At least we are blowing out the money supply so that debt is getting cheaper. What could go wrong?

Cutting taxes on rich is first simply not true and second has nothing to do with our massive debt.

THE PROBLEM IS OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND FOR THAT MATTER ALL LEVELS ARE GOVERNMENT ARE OUT OF CONTROL WITH POWER, SPENDING AND GROWING THEMSELVES.

SO MUCH BS THAT COULD BE ELIMINATED.

WE DON'T NEED TO COLLECT MORE TAXES, WE DON'T NEED TO TAX THE "RICH" MORE..

WE NEED TO CUT CRAP AND A LOT OF IT.

AND SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE ARE A DISASTER AND SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN.
