How long do you want to ignore this user?

I am looking for an Accountant that can help guide me through some K-1's for some multi-family investments that I participate in. I have always done my own taxes because W2's and stock sales have always been pretty simple to deal with and while the K-1's should in theory be straightforward, the numbers on the K-1's (1231 gain and unrecaptured section 1250 gains) don't seem to match up with what I have been tracking. Perhaps I am just not accurately taking advantage of the depreciation year to year. Probably makes sense to just turn it all over to a CPA at this point, but would like to start with a conversation.

I am on the west side of Houston, but with Teams/Zoom I don't think it actually matters where the accountant is located.

Any recommendations appreciated.

Any particular contact over there that you deal with?

I love that their office building looks as plain and boring as it comes…perfect for a CPA.

From your OP, those plain and boring CPAs might just save you from yourself!

Brian Williamson, they are a small firm.

the two partners are Aggies, with Brian being one of them.

I've read this a few times and all I keep imagining is that you think I'm a junky addicted to bad tax strategy…

No, not at all, I don't know you so can't think that. Was joking about the plain and boring comment about the building and CPAs. I am a CPA and I have often wondered if we become ferret-like because we became CPAs or are those who are predisposed to be ferret-like just more likely to become CPAs.
