Looking for a recommendation for a smart CPA. I'm considering purchasing a business and need some financial/strategic analysis & advice. I'm in Texas.

TIA

Sounds like you're looking for more of a tax consultant who also files your taxes but main service is strategy and playing the game smart?

If in Houston, I just made that jump early last year and has been WELL worth the extra cost. Ideas and strategies I never knew existed. Prob going to end up $6-8k out of pocket this year but looking like I'll save $35-$50k in all in taxes.

For reference, I met with them when I was starting an entity to get paid into from my main biz line. CRE broker fwiw. Sounds like it's similar timing for you. Happy to refer if it helps.

This..

Most CPA's I know of, the safe answer is "No"

Have to find someone that is more proactive.

Where in Texas? There are good ones in all the big cities if you care about being able to meet in their office. You're probably looking for someone who is part of a larger national firm or global network of firms, but not someone at a firm so big that all they care about is the Fortune 500.
