Tesla phones and phone service via Starlink is coming to reality in 2025.

No more dead spots in the US.

I wonder if that is going to drive Tesla stock up over the next couple of years?

Is Starlink even part of Tesla or is it a completely separate entity?

I think I heard one of our techs say that we have about an hour and a half of Starlink dead zone at roughly 1am. I haven't verified the claim though.

It's a SpaceX subsidiary. I assume Tesla's will ultimately use Starlink vs cell service but needless to say, this shouldn't be a value driver for Tesla stock.

Are you actually seeing this somewhere or just speculation on your part? Apple and Starlink are already talking, so it would surprise me if Elon gave up his biggest competitive advantage right before he releases his own phone.

Where are you seeing this? Elon has repeatedly said he doesn't want to make a phone.

Seems the quickest way is to use iPhone with Starlink. Going to be tough to pick up market share of phones with a new guy, no? My iphone already uses satellite automatically when it can't get service.

Exciting.

We're about to do a buy of SpaceX for some of our clients. Going to be fun to keep an eye on this.

I think AT&T and Verizon are in real trouble.

We just built a house in BFE and put in Starlink. Internet and streaming have been as fast and reliable as fiber was in Austin. Huge upgrade over DSL or Dish network for rural areas.

Starlink phone service would have to be very cheap to get me to switch just to cover the one dead spot we experience for about 10 miles on a stretch of 183 in central Texas. A stretch of road I'm only on about once per quarter.

We pay $40 per month (two lines) for phone and data. I doubt Starlink can touch that until they get significant scale.

Won't be a "starlink phone" rather it will be a phone with starlink- linkability. Tmobile already doing it. Others will follow suit. Think its text only for now.

Going to be even harder to find those campsites without cell service
