Checks don't really work against fraud. They'll intercept and then wash the check. I guess cash could work, but obviously that has drawbacks.

Privacy.com has worked well for me

All existing authorization methods will be tested.

Voice recognition, facial recognition, etc. well be easily spoofed with AI.

Captcha authorization can be solved with ai now too.

I'm seeing all of the financial institutions I deal with in conjunction with our clients force 2FA via one of the authentication apps. I'm sure that can be spoofed as well but that's where I think we'll be a year from now with every site you visit requiring that. Frankly it's annoying given my volume but I get it.

Recently one of the banks I deal with actually implemented the need for an authentication app combined with a pin I set when the account was created. It was for sending cash out and I thought that was pretty good.

Deal exclusively in gold.

At minimum use unique passwords on everything.
Next step is to use any form of 2FA.
Next step would be to use one of the more secure forms of 2FA (app, etc..) as opposed to text/sms.


You're still vulnerable, but you've made it so that you aren't an easy target so you'll likely be fine.

As for how it will be handled going forward, I imagine in the next 2-3 years we'll have a widespread biometric password solution. The current solutions of always resetting passwords, needing a password manager, etc... are all ripe for "disruption".

This is one of those topics where we are all going to give up freedom to improve a process.

Dealing with passwords might be the worst, necessary technology outcome of all time. It makes me insane. And I say this as someone who religiously uses a password app to ease the process. It still sucks.

I tried to enable an authentication app with my bank because I think those are actually easier to use than other methods but it doesn't work so I disabled it.
