Short holdings run about 30%, that is REALLY high
Went up 27% today based on pretty great growth in the last quarter - over 200% growth
Had a short squeeze about a year ago and the price reached about $24
Company is way ahead of competition, they are actually a very good company

full disclosure - I bought a few thousand shares late last week because I knew the earnings were coming out and were going to be huge. The short holdings scare me as these guys will manipulate it all over the place, but I am not sure they can stop the run up.

Economically short sellers are, all other things staying equal, pushing the price downward. By "borrowing" a stock from someone who is holding, and instead selling it, it increases the number of potential sellers while keeping buyers the same. That brings negative price influence.

In addition, when you see a stock that has a very high percent of shorts, it is usually in the hands of manipulators who are providing strong negative influence and also probably pressuring institutional investors to stay away.

But these guys can get popped if very strong good news comes out, which happened.

The stock went up around 26% yesterday, which means a lot of these guys will face margin calls to put up more money and keep their margin ratios within limits. As the price rises, more and more shorters will be forced to ante up and once they all do this, the stock COULD pop really high.


This happened with the movie theatre stock a couple years ago and it went from 4 bucks to 400 bucks. That will not happen here because Congress and the exchanges are protecting the shorters, but a pop could happen.


This is all spectulative. Fun to watch but scary to be in the middle of.


Robinhood has been going through this as well. 2 years ago it was $8 a share and no one could understand why it was so low. Shorts were all over Robinhood, even at * a share. Now it is sitting at 110 a share after round after round of shorters getting hammered on good news.

Just curious, did you post on the Stock Market thread about this? Just didn't know if I missed it or something. I would have liked to get in on this play. What do you see for next week? Month? Etc. I was looking at one thing and it was talking maybe reaching $16-20 by end of next week. Didn't know if you maybe saw the same thing?

I bought some SOUN $15 Oct calls in early June, and had given them up for dead. Yesterday's move was a pleasant surprise, short-squeeze or not! I made good money on their last runup, and thought they were primed for another run. Anxious to see what happens next week.

The one short seller tool knoxtom didn't mention is hit pieces by the likes of Hindenburg Research, Citron Research, and others. They'll stoop to that level if they're really hurting. I've noticed less of that lately - hopefully they'll stay on the sidelines for our friend SOUN.

Up 50% in the last month and 100% in the past 3 months.

I was in this a little bit ago and then got out with a good gain. How much more run are you seeing with this?

are you referencing short squeeze on AMC and Gamestop?

As of today, I am up 100% in 9 weeks.
