I've done it a couple times, you dont always have to provide docs with that certain company, just a doc that you lived at that address. So I've been able to find old water/electricity/phone bills with those addresses.

Even if you dont have all the docs or cant find it, just submit the form as much as you can theyll prob send a check or help you figure it out. Last one I submitted was for all but 1 that was in my name, they added the last one to the check.

My deceased dad has $35 deposit listed. Not worth jumping through the loops.

My grandfather (passed away a long time ago) has several thousand dollars of mineral royaties and production payments. Not a huge number and there are 2 direct heirs...but it kind of just drives me nuts to see it sitting there. I've mentioned it several times to my dad and he doesn't care.

Yes, he already makes a lot of donations and after he passes no doubt some charity will be really fortunate.
He has more problems than a math book, and unclaimed property isn't the biggest of them.

It looks like some of the large ones owed to my late grandmother are starting to disappear, hopefully that means my dad and his sisters finally started getting them claimed. There is still about $3k left but that is an improvement from when it was 10k+

My uncle that passed a few years ago has ~$20k. My dad and my aunt had/have POA, so I wonder if they can collect it? Also wonder if my old man would give me a 10% finders fee.

Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts sent me a check in the mail (treasury warrant) for my unclaimed money. Guess I should be worried they were able to confirm it is me at the address without having to claim it first. I did recently login into the new site that combines state license and vehicle registration renewal into one location
