How long do you want to ignore this user?
Needing to move our investments in Charles Schwab into something more hands off, like Vanguard or Fidelity and looking for an FA that would work by the hour or contract to help us move things over. Thanks!

I could be wrong, but if your stuff is already in Schwab, why not just keep it in Schwab but not under their management side. Just open it on the DIY side. I manage both of my kids IRA's with a mixture of VOO, VTI, & SCHD. Basically no fees and easy web interface.

Schwab now has an office in College Station (on University I think). Set up an appointment and talk to one of their people there. They'll be able to handle whatever you want I bet.

Can you elaborate on what you are actually wanting? And what you think you should pay to have someone help you do this?

It's definitely out of the normal.

Typically…advisors manage assets. But there's some that don't manage assets they just do planning only with zero asset management. But you are asking for basically a hybrid where you want someone to help you open accounts and move money around but then not manage it after that.

As others have said there's nothing wrong with Charles Schwab. If you don't want any help why not just buy a stock ETF or something like that and be hands off? Or switch it to Vanguard and do the same thing I guess.

Mine does but I think OP is over complicating this. If he wants to move stuff to Fidelity, he can call them (or even do this online) and they will handle it for him and move it all on his behalf.

I've had Fidelity do this for me in the past.

Charles Schwab will help too. Just call them. It's very easy.

To OP, I agree with everyone stating you can do this yourself. Moving the m9ney over is the easy part and should not require an advisor.
