Putting this up early because of the early tip and having to move my car due to football.

OKC is doing their second of three exhibition games. They lost to Arkansas on Wed night 77-62. Dungee had 31 points and Amber Ramirez, who transferred from TCU, added 15. It was Arky's second exhibition and OKC's first game. The Stars led early in the first quarter and were within 3 at halftime. They outrebounded the Ladybacks overall. From the box score it looks like Arkansas freshman hope for some inside size isn't ready to contribute.

OKC does have an experienced team and a couple of bigs who are among their leaders.

No. 6 Women Host Oklahoma City In Exhibition Friday

By:Texas A&M Athletics Communications

COLLEGE STATION, Texas The 12th Man has its first opportunity to see the No. 6 Texas A&M women's basketball team, hosting 2019 NAIA National Finalist Oklahoma City in an exhibition game Friday, November 1 at 6 pm. Admission to the game is free.

Fans are encouraged to contribute to Aggies CAN by bringing canned goods to the game, benefiting the Brazos Valley Food Bank and The 12th Can. Fans who donate get a coupon for free Whataburger, while supplies last. In addition, fans are advised that parking is $5 at Reed Arena for Friday's game, which is a double-header with men's basketball.

The Aggies, looking for their 12th straight exhibition win, enter the season after being showered with preseason praise. The Aggies were selected by the SEC's head coaches to win the league championship, and boast three Preseason All-SEC selectionsChennedy Carter, Ciera Johnson and Kayla Wells.

Carter earned additional distinction as the SEC's Preseason Player of the Year and was named a Preseason All-American by the Associated Press. Four of the Aggies' players were named to their respective positional award watch lists, with Carter (Lieberman Award, point guard), Wells (Miller Award, small forward), N'dea Jones (McClain Award, power forward) and Johnson (Leslie Award, center) receiving that recognition.

Texas A&M is coming off back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances, and went 26-8 in 2018-19. Texas A&M is searching for its 15th straight NCAA Tournament appearance in 2019-20.

Oklahoma City checks in at No. 3 in the preseason NAIA Division I women's basketball rankings. The Stars won their 19th Sooner Athletic Conference regular season title in 2019, posting a 33-5 overall record.

In last season's exhibition, the Aggies defeated Oklahoma City 81-40.

After this game, the Aggies begin the regular season by hosting Little Rock on Tuesday, November 5 at 7 p.m., for the Maroon Madness Tip-Off.

Missed bunnies, missed free throws, cheap fouls...not a pretty half of basketball.

Shooting from field and FT line not very good. Good to get this one behind us.

It was an odd exhibition to be sure. 30 point win but it feels like we all expected better.

Blair's postgame comments

But it seemed like the goal was not to figure out how many points Chennedy and Ciera could put up against OKCU. I didn't feel like those two were forcing things but could have scored as needed if it was necessary. It was as if Blair was prioritizing getting real game experience for others, especially Anna and Wilson. I mean, in a game where the outcome is in doubt, I don't think Anna is on the floor long enough to go 0-7 before that last shot made her 1-8 from the field. But it seemed like when she was in, the game plan was to feed her the ball. Wilson was also 1-8.

Sham was fine, I thought. 7 assists given the poor shooting is a great PG performance. I expected N'dea to get limited minutes and to struggle because of the hamstring. She only played 15 minutes but it seemed like she settled down a bit after taking some wild shots at the start. I thought Kayla struggled. Her timing was off and she seemed to be trying to force penetration, leading to 4 turnovers.

Cheah had a great game.

It was good to see everyone not only play, but get double digit minutes.

Blair might be able to run the ball through Chennedy every possession and might choose to do that. But building a complete team makes it more likely, not less, that Chennedy's effort this year becomes transcendent. We have seen it, but when other teams work to deny her the ball it puts a ton of pressure on her to find a way to help. Dragging two defenders to a corner and opening up passing lanes for effectively 4 on 3 is a great way to do that. And she's been doing that when the offense is not running through her.

It's why I've emphasized chemistry: this is the soft power game. She gets better by her teammates stepping up and finding themselves.

I thought it was cool when some of the OCU players participated in sawing horns after the game.
