Mercado Region/Aggies path to the Final 4

Going to base my thoughts figuring that the seeds hold....

Game #1 vs. Troy,,,,we have no biz messing around here

Game # 2 vs Iowa State,.... they beat bu in Waco 75-71 and lost to bu at home. Their All Big 12 6'0
forward, Ashley Joens averages 31 ppg and had 27 and 28 vs bu. They don't get much scoring elsewhere,
and their bigs don't score a lot. Hopefully, we can wear Ashley out changing defenders and double teaming her to give up the ball.

Game #3 vs. Arizona......lost both games to Stanford, 1-1 vs, UCLA..Their 5'6 guard McDonald averages 19 ppg.
Reese, a 6'2" forward averages 11 ppg. Not a lot of scoring from their bigs, A good defensive team.

Game #4, vs. NC State......do not think the Wolfpack will have a problem getting to this game. They will likely play Indiana to get here, Hoosiers lost to UK at UK, Lost to Tenn at home. They did almost beat Maryland 80-84.
I think we will match up ok at the 1-4 positions. The 5 position is big advantage to NC State with Cunane. We will have to bring help and hope their open shooter misses or we cause a turnover. I have seen NC State play on TV at least 3x...they are tough and physical.

Win the above 4 games, and we likely play UCONN or bu in the semi final. Likely either Stanford or S. Carolina on the other side for the NC! A tough 6 game road for sure. Go Ags!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI...Troy lost to Miss State by 24 at Miss State. They have one girl over 6'.
Dunlap is 6'2" and averages 5.6 ppg.

Yes, we need to prep and play hard. Need to get off to a good start.
Need to be able to play most of the team. Set the tempo for the rest of a run for the NC!!

NCstates weakness is their perimeter shooting. If they aren't hitting shots you can effectively double Cunane and make them rely on cuts to the basket or have to hit 3s. Very very similar to SouthCarolina

I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I really wish we could be there to support. Does anyone have the broadcast schedule for our region?

I'm not sure why, but I'm also glad we don't have any other SEC schools in our quarter of the draw.

Best guess is the North Court since that's where the 2nd round game appears to be played. It's really sad that the NCAA/Ticketmaster doesn't give you that information when you are trying to purchase tickets.

Thanks for the confirmation. Where were you able to see that information? I was looking at the bracket on the NCAA website trying to figure it out so my sister could order tickets.

I have this exact same question. I am trying to help my sisters get tickets and I can't figure out which game they should buy. If anyone has an answer I would like to know too. I tried calling Ticketmaster customer service and they had a recording saying they aren't taking phone calls. They are making this way harder than it should be!

So here is an official response from the NCAA

"Tickets are on sale but we don't know where the teams will be playing and in which court after all the teams advance. We have just opened sales to all regional round games but there is no information on which team will end up which court and play which day"

Well, that's a bunch of baloney! They should have been able to number the games on the brackets so you could tell when the team you are following will play.

If you guys get a chance hop on over to Instagram (aggiewbb) or Facebook (Texas A&M Women's Basketball). If you are following Texas A&M women's basketball you can see the athletes that take over the social media platforms for the day. ELLA TOFAEONA took over yesterday and gave some insight into the team, where they are staying, behind the scenes at the facilities, covid testing, the gifts and swag they received, etc. Good stuff. Make sure you give them some likes and follow them on social media to stay in the loop if you're interested in that sort of thing. Gig'em!
