They quit their season last year so our game last year was cancelled.

Game tomorrow night is off. Here we go again.

They literally just played last night so this is a little weird. So now basically our first game will be against LSU and mulkey.

Why isn't this a forfeit? That's what would happen in football

Gaming is being postponed not canceled at this point, not sure about rules on cancelling and forfeits but since it is going to be made up don't think that is an option at this point.

Quote:

The SEC became the latest to announce its cancellation policy on Monday with a forfeit mandate similar to the rest of the Power Five. The policy will hand a forfeit to any team that is unable to play due to COVID-19 issues, while assigning a win in the conference standings to the team able to play. The SEC also will consider financial reimbursement to any team whose game was canceled through no fault of its own.
We shouldn't be forced to play an additional game crammed into the schedule somewhere, we should get the W

After the Gator Bowl was canceled for us we rerouted and came in for Men and Wimmin's games... Kinda pissed.

So, just bought tickets for their game in K'ville next week and UK on 02/06. Wanted to see at least a few games in Gary's last year...

When we canceled against Ole Miss last year we didn't forfeit. Guess they changed it.

The SEC will review its policy regarding COVID-19 cancellations, conference spokesperson Herb Vincent said Wednesday in a statement.
"At this time the policy is the same for all sports," Vincent said. "The SEC is reviewing the policy prior to the beginning of conference play next week."
The SEC instituted a policy Aug. 30 that SEC teams will have to forfeit a game if they are unable to participate in a game due to "unavailability issues" that includes COVID-19 related absences.

Other conferences adopted similar plans, including the ACC and Big 12. Both reversed those stances this week and no longer will assess forfeits for cancellations.
College basketball has been heavily affected by the recent Omicron variant. Tennessee's game against Memphis on Saturday in Nashville was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols within the Tigers' program. Kentucky's Wednesday game against Louisville was canceled due to COVID-19 issues within the Louisville program.
The SEC announced its full cancellation policy prior to the start of football season, stating that a team forced to forfeit games will earn a loss in the conference standings, while their opponent would earn a win. If both teams are unavailable to participate, both teams will forfeit and earn a loss, according to a league statement.
