Mulkey is a-lot better coach and recruiter than Blair ... is she weird? yep! But she is heads and shoulders better than Blair; I am sure she still has drinking fits thinking about losing in 2011. Half the time Blair doesn't even recognize his best players.
IMO, A&M needs to hire someone new outside of his staff ... I like the chick at TCU.

I wish that Blair would have self retired a long time ago. He has gotten to the playoffs but really has not had the overall package to really compete at the Elite eight level year after year.
As for me..... I was willing to let GB be the face of WBB at A&M for as long as he wanted. The fact that he was willing to leave a basketball supporting school like UA to come to what looked like a hopeless situation in College Station was a godsend at the time. Throw in the NC is 2011 and we've gotten more than we deserved, based on the still lacking support for the team - attendence-wise. One only has to look at the result of a previous classless removal of a Class Act - Shelby Metcalf - to know where mindless pursuit of a 'natty' at all costs can leave a program.
I'm fine with this (as crazy as it is) if he takes a massive pay cut and allocates those resources for assistants that can recruit/coach to cancel out his deficiencies as a coach.
Blair has been well compensated during his time in Aggieland. The University/AD owe him nothing more than what he's already been given. Blair needs to announce this is his last year, so everyone can move on.

Coaches are paid to win. Blair has been and is being paid very well. And he's also won. If he didn't he would have been canned long time ago.
Oh, I completely disagree. The fan support for the 2010-2014 teams was very very high. It just goes to show, when you put out a winning product, you build community support. And I don't think we got more than we deserved. I think we deserve more than we've gotten. Build an exciting product (ex: Dawn Staley, Kim Mulkey, Vic S, Geno, etc), and the support will follow.

The Ags lost the game because the players couldn't make shots. Blair didn't miss 10 of 11 shots like Nixon or 13 of 18 shots like Wells did. Doesn't appear to me that that the loss was do to bad coaching by Blair. There was discussion earlier on how elite SC and Dawn Staley are [which I think is correct], but MO beat them while only having 7 players available. One of the missing players was MO's leader in scoring and rebounding. Stuff happens.

It was a response to Snicker, yes, it would have made more sense had I used past tense.
No argument with any replies to my post and the fact that GB has already announced makes it moot anyway. The point I was making was - when you try too hard to reach the next rung on the ladder make sure you don't fall off the damn thing completely...... as in trading a Shelby for a Kermit or an RC for a Dennis. We're not going to get Vic, or Kim, or Dawn, or Geno and I don't know if there are any other sure things out there.

In less than one season, KM has LSU going toe to toe with South Carolina…,currently tied at 44 in the 3rd. Very large, energized crowd in Baton Rouge. Amazing what an elite coach can do. When they hired her, Scott Woodward said it was time for the Louisiana native to come home. Time for us to bring Aggie Vic Schaefer home!! Our WBB Program deserves an elite coach!
