Would love to have him take over here. Dallas Native.

Wes Moore arrived at NC State for the 2013-14 season.

In 2012-13, the Wolfpack started 0-7 in ACC play.

In 2021-22, NCSU is now 10-0 in league play and boasts a #3 national ranking.

Since taking over the Wolfpack on April 5, 2013, Moore has posted a 190-65 (.745) record (21-22 Stats not included) .

He is 65. We shouldn't hire someone already at retirement age.

He has no SEC coaching experience

IDK who we need, but I hope Ross is scouring the ends of the earth for the best coach he can find.

The Schloss hire bodes well for what we do next. I just don't think the hire is likely to zing. But I hope we get a slam dunk hire for sure.

Bumping this to say Wes just won his third consecutive ACC tournament title and won the ACC regular season title. I think age shouldn't matter as much in this current college coaching environment as coaches aren't expected to be coach K and stick around for 40+ years. Should bring the best in, even if it's just to turn the program around, and move on.

Do we think the hire has been made or do you think he's still searching?

Moore is a fantastic coach, but I don't think we want to be the first question asked when he is out recruiting a player is will he still be coaching me when I am a senior or will he be retired? We just came off of that being the case.

Would you feel the same about Geno Auriemma who is 67? I do think you've made a great point, I'm just curious your thoughts.

Not gap, but Gino in this case is the exception to the rule.

Also I don't get this whoever we hire isn't sticking around, why not if they build a winner.

I could see hiring Moore if we had a top 10 program right now and just needed somebody to step in and keep the ship moving. But we're not in the shape, we're looking at a total rebuild.

I want to see a Dawn Staley type coach for Blair's replacement. I want hard assed defense, and I want girls that are scrambling all over the court for every loose ball, every missed shot, every pass, every inbounds play, etc. We got away from that over the past few years and the womens program slipped. Gary is a hell of a coach, but I think Ed he/we slipped in some areas in the recent past.
Peace for Ukraine!

we got away from it because we didn't have the players that bought into that system. We'd show flashes but we just didn't have the talent to run that kind of system.

I hope Bjork (or whomever) took notice that the final 4 SEC coaches were all female ~40-50 (coach yo, 39 and staley 51) who had what appeared to be an amazing connection with their teams and weren't afraid to stand up for their players with the refs.
