9 years as a NCAA Div 1 head coach now and exactly 0 NCAA tournament wins. This is not the resume of a fantastic up and comer. She might be an easy and convenient hire to cash in at A&M with a big raise but she isn't the next great one if we are going the route of an "up and coming" young coach.

Yes, they lost in the 1st round today to the South Dakota team we beat by 14 earlier this year.
Saw that. Ugh. Idk who else there is to hire. Might as well stay with KBW if we are relegated to associates at this point.

Yep... I'm definitely second-guessing also.
Now that SD knocked off Baylor, maybe we should not attribute the Ole Miss loss to her. Also, Coach Yo and other coaches have been vocal about the number of graduates/covid year players on the SD team. The arguments are a little whiny, but they are still something to consider.
I think if it was Yo she would have been announced already. I feel like this could mean our new coach is still in the tournament? Surely, the sooner we announce the better for recruiting?

Getting upset in one single year isn't the be all data point but it is part of the entire story.
If we aren't going to hire a current hall of fame coach, we need to be in the market for a young coach we think is a future one. After 9 years as a head coach, you know what you have with Coach Yo.

If someone was knocked out over this last weekend, I think you would see it announced mid to late this week with rumors starting today.

I also think the OleMiss basketball budget may not be what ours is, and certainly I would think the expectations at A&M are higher based on what Gary Blair did with the program. Have to remember, also, that Gary was 60 when we hired him and he gave us 17 years which is a lot. I think anything around that age or younger is feasible for a new hire with high expectations.
