Was able to attend today's game and again came away impressed with how our girls are selling out on every possession! We created so many turnovers (23) with our pressure (we had 11 steals) and out-rebounded Army by 21. I can't count how many times we came up with loose balls and also saved the ball before it went out of bounds. Our team has played their tails off in these first two games and are having fun doing it. Our shooting was really cold to start the game but our defensive pressure allowed us to maintain a lead then eventually pull away as our shots started falling. If we bring that same defensive intensity and continue to crash the boards, this team is going to create some problems for our opponents. Thursday vs Duke will be a really good test for our team against a quality team on the road. It was great to see Sahara pick up a double/double, and also great to see both Greens playing with so much confidence. Barker is a joy to watch….just relentless! I love the players coming into the stands after the game to get to know the fans and thank them for coming. Roby seems to really be having fun with this. They wanted her for a postgame interview and had to call her back out of the stands. She was dancing with students and taking photos with them. Lol It's going to be fun to see how this team grows over the course of the season. We've gotten off to a great start! Side note - it was great seeing Coach Blair at the game as well as Jordan Nixon. She looks great and said she is enjoying working on her masters in communication. Miss seeing her on the floor but glad she's happy! Gig Em!!
