LITTLE ROCK, Ark. The Texas A&M women's basketball team hits the road to take on Little Rock at 6:30 p.m. inside the Jack Stephens Center on Tuesday.


The Aggies (4-3) are led by sharpshooting Sydney Bowles who is knocking down 40.5% of her shots from deep, which is the seventh best in the Southeastern Conference. The freshman is second on the team in scoring, pouring in 10.1 points per game and is making 2.14 triples each contest. Sahara Jones is pacing the team in minutes played, having logged 31.0 minutes per contest while averaging 9.4 points and 6.4 rebounds. Janiah Barker leads the team in scoring (12.1), while Aaliyah Patty boasts the most rebounds per game (7.9) on the team.

The Aggies are 12-2 all-time versus Little Rock (1-5) and currently boast a seven-game winning streak in the series. Texas A&M is 5-1 at Little Rock and won the last matchup, 79-56, at the Jack Stephens Center on Dec. 10, 2020.

They are playing horrible basketball.

We have put the ball in the basket 11 times and given it away 17 times through 3 quarters.

Hard to watch

I know this team is figuring things out, injuries and all. But I doubt we can even get 10 wins this year. This isn't all on Gary Blair. We are in the transfer era. We could have made improvements

So I'm going to pretend this never happened. At least until the end of the season. Y'all ok with that?

Bummer that we're off Dayton's schedule. They may have found their first win against us…

Wow….. I know Gary left this program in rough shape but would it have been this bad with him coaching? I would be curious to know how much worse off we would be if Blair stayed even one more year.

Look at Rutgers. Stringer stayed a bit too long and now that program is one of the worst in P5. We're facing a similar fate

Athletes cannot endorse alcohol, tobacco, gambling, illegal substances, or banned athletic substances. NIL contracts will not last beyond the participation of the athlete in the school athletic program. Schools and boosters cannot use NIL deals as recruiting inducements.

Now this is a damn joke.......all SC WBB players get $25,000 but some how that is not a recruitment inducement

State of Texas NIL Laws: What College Athletes and Sponsors Need to Know

I would be shocked if we don't have WBB player's with NIL deals right now. I, too, am amazed that South Carolina can get away with they way they are publicizing NIL deals. I believe Texas Tech is also pretty vocal about what they offer. It seems like A&M's NIL stance is to keep all deals quiet (which I like, tbh).

I didn't watch the game yesterday (other than keeping up with it on ESPN) because we were on the go with soccer practices. Did Barker travel with the team? In an update to what I originally posted about her not being braced, she now has a cast on her lower arm and wrist.

This season has to be eye opening for the new comers. I doubt most are used to losing like this. Last year's team got their first taste of it and it seems to have carried forward. I really am looking forward to seeing something click with the team. I don't see a lot of different looks in terms of offense as compared to last year. Defense is better at times when we play a zone; we just cannot play man at this point. I expect the defense to continue to improve. Offensively, I have no idea as I am not a coach. We don't seem to have a go to scorer. I do know the new comers will develop, but it's hard to stay positive watching the team this season. They say they hate losing in their interviews, but I honestly just do not see fight or passion for 40 minutes. I do see frustration, though. Lots and lots of frustration and hanging shoulders.

Barker was at the game. Had her right hand in a cast. Hope it short term.
