Time ran out on us again. Mizzu wins 81-70. Props to the team for giving it a go in the 4th. A little too late but got within 7 and couldn't get any closer.

I'd give co-player of the game to Ny and Janae. Both played their hearts out.

Nevertheless, here we are…year 4…in 15th place and half a game ahead of 0-6 Arkansas for dead last.

On the bright side we had less than 20 turnovers

Difference was 3 pt shooting.

Looks like we need to keep her out of the locker room before the game and at halftime. First qtr we had a 12 pt deficit and in the 3rd qtr a 9 point deficit. 21 pts was too much to overcome. Pregame and halftime speeches must be toxic.

How about keep her out on days ending with Y

Next up is at Oklahoma, then home to South Carolina and Alabama, then away at Kentucky

We are definitely on the remedial path to success. It doesn't look like any thing major is going to happen before the end of the season. At least we can identify possible bottlenecks in the current process that keeps us from winning the must-win games like Missouri.

Mizzou just went with a simple game plan, they looked for mismatches with a lot of screens knowing we'd switch almost everything. Their guards have some height and they took advantage over our smaller guards. On defense they ran a zone loading up the paint, we didn't pass it well down low. There were many times Ware was fighting for good positioning and we just refused to throw it to her. When we did, good things happened.

We also are tragically horrible at layups. Janneh missed so many easy ones, as did Kent, Blow, and Hylton. An embarrassing amount of layups. Against a zone we also hesitated so much on three's. Against a zone you have to think and react quickly and we played scared. Only one person attacks with confidence in Pryor. Janneh does too, but she has no touch offensively.
