I'm of the mindset that if Trev wants her gone, she will be gone. Money will be found and he will make it happen. The questions he has to answer are: 1) have we given her enough time and enough resources (comparatively to other non-revenue sports), 2) are we better off than we were before, 3) how does the WBB program and the media and social media score affect our national brand, 4) has he been interviewing and looking for a replacement already?
There are so many red flags in this program. Post game interviews and quotes are very telling. You can only say "well, this conference is the toughest conference to play in when you have tu, south carolina, tennessee, etc, etc..." ok - well, why aren't we them or even a middle of the pack team in year 4? The athletes look confused/bewildered and grossly under prepared for every game. I cannot tell you how obvious it is to me that something is going on behind the scenes. However, I shouldn't be surprised because this is how it's been for all 4 years. Her conference win percentage is 21%. A complete joke. I absolutely will not accept NIL as an excuse when we have other programs that receive MUCH less performing infinitely better.
As many have pointed out though, we are just beating a dead horse here. I wish Joni nothing but the best but I do hope she is fired sooner rather than later. Thank you for being a kind and well dressed basketball observer on the sidelines, but I haven't seen anything in her or her staff that makes me think they should be coaching division 1 basketball.
