Adding on to home?

I'm looking to add on to my house. I need a bedroom and an office/guest room added. They will be close to an existing half bath that borders a closet, and it makes sense to tear down the closet wall and turn the half bath into a full bathroom.

My question is, has anyone done this? How much of a pain in the ass is the construction process while living in the home?
And anyone who has done something like this recently, what would be the ballpark cost?
For reference the rooms Id like to add would be somewhere between 10x10 and 12x12, a small hallway would need to be added too, along with the half bath being remodeled to a full bath (this would not require adding any footprint to our foundation).
This is all on a 1 story house located just north of Fort Worth.

I have also posted this on the home improvement board

Are you tying into the roof line? I did a bed, bath, sunroom pre pandemic and we moved out for over a year. I would never try to live on the construction site, especially if you have kids
