My wife and I built a cabin in Broken Bow in 2019. We live in NE Texas and structured ours in a separate LLC to keep it separated from other businesses and personal property. You should also look into "Opportunity Zone" investing if you're going to build there. Broken Bow/Hochatown are located in an Opportunity Zone, meaning that if you hold the property for 10 years or longer, you can basically sell it tax free. Look more into this though, but it is something I would definitely set up with it.
BigHead04: They have been building nonstop for several years now. They are breaking ground on new cabins every week and they don't see it slowing down. Choctaw Nation also announced this week that they are going to be building a huge casino/resort in Hochatown which will bring in even more tourists. The rate that the area is growing is insane. The downside is that prices to build and/or buy have increased astronomically in the last several years. If I could do it over, I would have built 5 at one time and sold 2 to pay for the others! Also, I'd recommend either building a 1, 4 or 5 bedroom, NOT a 2 or 3 as they don't rent out as well.
