Sent the following to an Aggie Lawyer in Houston

I am a fellow Ag '93 who is in a legal nightmare for my family. I approached your firm about bringing legal action against our builder Taylor Morrison back 3 years ago. I was told that case wasn't something your firm handled and didnt have anyone to recommend. We have now been moved out of house for 3 years and still waiting arbitration. I also strongly believe the mold has caused my daughters extensive mental disorders over the same time frame. This situation has caused extreme financial challenges along with covid. I am trying to get other legal opinions as I am losing confidence in current council but I can't get any construction legal specialist to call me back. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Reaching out to several but any referrals would be greatly appreciated. Many I have contracted have conflicts of interest since the builder is so large.

I'm confused. So you're salready being represented? If so, other lawyers probably won't talk to you about it much less take it on.

The "conflicts" thing is either a BS excuse or youre reaching out to the wrong lawyers (i.e. big firms). You need more of a solo practitioner/small boutique type firm.

I think you are having trouble for several reasons.
1. Your letter is confusing on the point of if you have representation or not.
2. Mold cases can be a pain and often end up not being very lucrative. You have to prove that it was caused by the builder.
3. You have included a claim that will be hard if not impossible to prove, the link between the mold in the home you lived in several years ago and current mental illness issues of a family member.
I have a legit question for you. How much would it cost to make the house able to be occupied? In all honesty it may be best to bite the bullet and fix it.

Yes...forgot to add...you'll never prove causation of mold to mental disorders. It's hard enough/impossible to prove it causes any long term physical problems.
