These scammers are relentless. If you're doing remote showings, be aware of this.

If you're not, they also get people here stateside to help them gain access and hide keys. They are clever and relentless.

We signed this one up for a bunch of spam so they wouldn't be able to use that number any more

I missed what they are doing and how they're doing it? Are they leasing properties that aren't theirs and getting first months deposit?

I watched the whole thing, but, other than taking his RE photos and putting them on Craigslist, he never explains what the actual scam is other than trying to get him to send $50 on whatsap for some unknown purpose.

they are trying to steal application fees and or deposits.

there is one on rover where they try to steal personal information as well..that one is more confusing to me

Ha, thought I missed something and did not go back and watch it again. Yes, that was exactly my question - what is the scam? I assume the guy is leasing properties and getting deposit and first month rent, but now sure.

They replicate a listing and try to either get a deposit or an application with enough info to cause identity theft.
