I purchased a home in May, 2022. Just received our property tax assessment which was for almost 200k more than we paid for the house. Am I right in thinking the protest may be as easy as just submitting a closing doc showing the purchase price?
Yes. For two years they can't raise your appraised value any higher than what you paid in 2022. Just submit the closing statement. That worked very well for us, as we bought in Feb 2020 and prices in the neighborhood increased a lot over the last couple of years.apoglo12 said:
