I just successfully closed sale on Friday for my home in Maryland.
The plan had been to then turn around and buy a home in Florida this fall, to rent out for a few years and then move into.
My buddy who made a ton of money in real estate development (after getting a Masters in RE from Georgetown) told me last week that this is a horrible idea, that it is much more lucrative to just invest the proceeds into the equity markets
also that as I like to move around the world, it makes more sense to just rent. (I disagree in a world of high inflation for rent)
aside from buying REITS in your brokerage- what are the intelligent methods to invest in real estate looking at the current and 5-10 year future market.
TIA
