We are moving back to Northwest Houston area in 2024. Can you give me suggestions where to look below 600k? Hoping to avoid Houston taxes, not be in a flood zone or have had flooding. Thinking around Tomball and North of Tomball but easy access to toll roads and Beltway. Thank you for your suggestions!

Where will you be commuting to for work?

And I don't have a lot of knowledge specific to Tomball, but, in general, going to be hard to avoid the taxes, it's not just a city of Houston thing. Most suburbs tax rates are actually higher than Houston because of their MUDs. Obviously certain neighborhoods and older neighborhoods can help avoid this.

I would look in Magnolia, Montgomery or near College station. Tomball in the last 5 years has turned into another concrete jungle like cypress. About to add a 3rd 6A high school.

Avoid Harris county. Home owners insurance and property taxes have gone insane.

Bridgeland? Not sure if it's in Harris or Monkey county.

I really like Magnolia. I'd look in Tomball, parts of Spring, and the Woodlands as well. I'd be happy to help set y'all up on some auto email blasts so you can start learning the market. And as always, we split our commissions with our buyer clients, so if you don't have an agent yet, I'd be happy to help. My contact info is in my profile.

property taxes are insane throughout Texas.

Suggesting areas with tax rates 100 bps higher than CoH isn't going to help that

Man sorry to hear you didn't get the memo, but Houston is full. You might want to try El Paso.
