Owner controls common space. Lessee controls lease space. Can do what he wants so long as legal and defined in lease.

Would a parking lot and sidewalk to enter a building directly into a leased suite typically be considered shared space or part of the lessee space as it's directly in front of their suite?

Read the lease to fully determine was negotiated.
