We're selling our home and are wondering about realtor fees.

Our realtor is able to go down to 5% but offer less "services"

What has been the norm in the Houston market? Are we still all doing 6%?

All commissions are negotiable. So shop around.

My sister recently listed her NW Houston home with Valery Blank @ REMAX Integrity.

Agree. Shop around. You can find full service for less than 6%. Email username at yahoo if I can offer you a personal referral. Doesn't hurt to have a conversation!

Lmao.

Ask them what "less services" you'd be getting. That's a crock.

A transaction I was a party to in October '24 was 1% to seller's agent 2% to buyer's (my) agent out of seller proceeds. Seller's agent only contacted people that had previously made offers on adjacent, similar property.

One I'm familiar with that's currently on the market is 2% each to buyer's and seller's agent.

Unless it's $400,000 or less, I feel like 6% is crazy.

This is why realtors get a bad name. So for 5% they will not try as hard?

We provide FULL service brokerage fees for sellers for 1.5% and recommended offering 3% to the buyers agent for a total of 4.5%. We've helped hundreds of good Aggies over the years and would love to help you too. Although we have agents throughout Texas (all Aggies), I'm in Houston and would love to help you. My cell is in my profile and a link to my website is below.

If your realtor will drop 1% but says they will provide less services... get a new realtor

There are thousands of realtors in Houston area that would do it for 5% and give you full service.
