To be clear, I wasn't pointing my finger at A&M. This is a list of college football blue bloods, plus Tech.

Half of those teams figure into the CFP, and the other half consider it a hugely disappointing season that they are not.

I don't love that this is what college football is. It has been this way for decades, only now there is a process around it.

Tech has been a beneficiary of this change, perhaps more than any team in the nation. But we play in a conference that has a bunch of teams that can't afford to play this game.

So many people on Texags say things like "put X SEC team in the Big 12 and see what happens." We're seeing it. Tech and BYU are on a different level from every team in the Big 12 in terms of money, and Tech is ahead of BYU.

Tech isn't just winning games. Tech is destroying every team it plays. This is SEC talent in a Big 12 league.

It's going to become impossible for smaller teams to field a competitive football team... for people like me who are old enough to remember the Cold War, that's what we are seeing here. The United States outspent the USSR to the point that the USSR fell into pieces. So will go college football. Eventually there will be another super division, similar to FCS and FBS today, that will sit above the FBS. Only those schools with the deepest pockets will be able to play in that league.

Tech has set itself up well to play in that league but it remains to be seen if we'll get the chance.

Ah, but there's the rub. We are in THE TWELVE, not the SEC. It's a new world, folks.

The SEC's getting soft, friend, and the rest of the college football world is getting tough. Very, very tough. We're entering savage new times, and we're going to have to be pure and direct and strong, if we're going to survive them. Now, the conference and the ESPN people who wallow around in it, the viewers who watch them do it, they're rotting us away from the inside. We intend to stop that rot.

This is the sort of thing I am referencing in the post above B12-0's.

College football has become a war of economics and the stakes are sky-high.
