A group of friends are playing some RTJ courses soon. On the drive back from Birmingham to C.S. what course would you suggest?

The plan is to leave Birmingham after a morning round, drive about 1/2 the way back. Then play the next morning before driving the rest of the way back. It looks like taking HWY 20 back saves only 30 minutes or so vs 190 or HWY 10. So, it doesn't really matter which portion of LA.

I'd suggest Black Bear Golf Club in Delhi, LA. It's between Vicksburg and Monroe off I20. Been a while since I was there, so can't comment on conditions, but I remember it being a fun course. They also have on site accommodations.

I've played there once, on the way to RTJ w/ another group of friends. Also played the Toms course down south (Gray Plantation or something?)

Squire Creek is absolutely incredible… but it's also super private.

Is Mossy Oak an option?

Our golf pro just so happens to know the pro at Squire Creek. I've got him looking into getting us on there. From pictures I get some Augusta vibes. Anyone that's played it able to confirm?

When are you planning on coming through LA? I'm a member at Squire and would be more than happy to get y'all on….

The morning of April 24th! That would rock Ghost! We'll drive in the night of the 23rd. Play the morning 24th and then head back home to CS after lunch. So, if you have any ideas on easy/safe lodging and some quality food options we'd love to hear some recommendations.

Thanks in advance!

No worries my man! Send me the details on your group and I'll hook you up. Nkrivjansky@aggienetwork.com
Great course and I think y'all will really enjoy the club. Depending on your group size, I may need to play along. We made some changes to some of our policies and they really hammer guests that play without a member.

Squire Creek is the real deal. Beautiful piece of property. The par 3's are great and all very different. The front 9 was the more dramatic of the two, as I recall. Though I've only have played it 1.75 times.

It was in amazing condition with great greens and green complexes. The layout and shot quality is spectacular.

At the time we were able to get on as an all guest group… we were able to stay at a couple of their on site golf houses. It was truly an amazing experience. Even though we were all guests they treated us fantastic and were very welcoming without any arrogance or aloofness (though the facility, clubhouse, course, restaurant, bar were all impeccable).

Honestly, it's my favorite club I've ever seen.
