Moving to the Temple area here in a few weeks. Any recommendations on the best places in the area to play (or potentially join?). Know it's slim pickings out there compared to my current setup in Houston.

I live in Georgetown. Mill Creek in Salado has 27 holes and is on a great piece of property, but not well maintained. Other than that , your options aren't real good.

Stonetree in Killeen is a decent track. Haven't played there in awhile, but used to when I was in town to visit the folks.

I live in Temple. Long story short, it sucks here. Sammons is a stupid course that isn't well kept. Mill Creek has some decent holes but is often in bad shape. Wildflower is a terrible layout IMO and isn't all that well maintained either. Stonetree in Killeen is a bit more enjoyable than those but not great. Otherwise, head to Waco or down to Round Rock to find decent golf.

Berry creek is a fun country club. It's on the very north side off of i35 and an easy 30 min drive to temple.

Stonetree is the best public course. Nothing else great. Expect slow play on weekends on any public course but the prices are not expensive. Salado has 27 holes but the greens are horrible. Wildflower CC takes good care of their greens but is not well run.

No. And Berry Creek is old, run down, and not a good golf course at all.

The best country club and course around is Cimarron, but likely too far of a drive for you if you're in Temple and it's expensive.

Wildflower is your best bet if you want to join a club. It's a decent course and actually well maintained these days. I grew up out there and I've never seen it in as good of shape as it was a couple months ago when I played.

Good courses are very limited. I'm from temple

I'd look to join wildflower. It isn't pricy to join. And you can get into set group

Public will be sammons in temple or stone tree in Killeen
Or go to Waco cottonwood on the south side
