Short story - I made my 3rd hole in 1.
Fun/detailed story-
This past Monday (4/10) was the 2 year anniversary of my first hole in one. It was on the same hole, played 136 with a PW.
Saturday I played alongside a buddy at our home course (Pebble Creek). Played ok, but was frustrated, couldn't buy a bucket.
Sunday rolls around and I didn't plan to play because I usually play basketball Sundays after church. After church I get the text saying bball wasn't happening due to Easter activities. My wife told me to go ahead and hit the course. None of my buddies were free to play so I teed off solo (walking). I eagled hole one, which I figured would be the extent of the excitement for the day. However after parring the next 2 holes, I peek down the fairway behind me and see a solo riding almost to his tee shot as I make the corner up the hill.
This time around the tee box was back, but it appeared to be a very similar tee position. It was playing 150 with a slight breeze in the face. I opted for an 8i. As I hit it, I felt good about contact and flight. Before it lands I could tell it was going to land a few feet to the right of the pin. So I tell it to spin left and get in. And it listened! My reaction was, "Yeaaaah!.....Noooooo!" As I realized no one was there to witness it and that it wouldn't be accepted by our hole in one club. 5 seconds later I hear the guy behind me driving his cart up the hill. So, I tell him, what happened, he tells me congrats and that he'll at least witness it as I pick the ball out. We played a few more holes together since he was playing later with some buddies and he was only out there getting ready for his match. He told me that he was going to tell the employees in the clubhouse he witnessed it. I told him since he didn't see it actually go in, and only saw me walk down and pull the ball out of the cup, they wouldn't count it. He however still told the clubhouse a variation of the story. I told the club pro the exact story when I finished and of course they couldn't give me clubhouse credit. It would have been somewhere north of 1k I think currently.($10 per person that are currently in the hole in one club)
Although I'm sure I won't get any sympathy from most on here it was still cool to have my 3rd Hole-in-One on the same hole I had my 1st, 1 day shy of 2 years! April and hole 4 at Pebble have been good to me.
