Got some buddies in Denver and they ***** and moan about winter golf or lack of.
Bandon Dunes is year round.
I don't imagine they can effectively operate in the winter. Sure they may get a few 60 degree sunny days in Jan but who in their right mind will plan a Denver golf outing from Nov through April?
I wouldn't.
I assume this will be towards Kansas and not the Rockies? Why would they choose this location where they fight for every drop of rain water and crappy weather for 5 to 6 months? So if golf cancels, they can ski?
**** that...Denver summer is hot dry and windy as ****. And the altitude sickness isn't pleasant.
I wouldn't spend the money to do this.
Your buddies sound like wimps. I've played nine holes of golf at least once a month for over five years. Have I driven a couple hours to keep that streak going? Yes.
I have seen so many posts like this on social media about this development. I'm happy that lots of people out there still have this sort of notion about the weather on the Northern Front Range. Last thing we need is more people moving up here.
Comparing this development to Bandon is dumb. Just because its from the same group doesnt mean itll be marketed the same way. There's what, 50K people within a 2 hour drive from Bandon? There are over 3 million people within two hours from where these courses will be built.
