Good afternoon! 2024 Masters ticket applications open a week from tomorrow. I'm looking for three tickets for next year for mine and two of my Aggie buddies' 50th birthday. I'm willing to pay up to $500/ea for three practice round tickets if anyone is interested in selling theirs. I'll bump this thread periodically but I wanted to get this out there for people to consider. Good luck to everyone applying!

I didn't think it was possible to buy/sell unless you got picked in the lottery? You can do this?

I had no idea this was even a thing. I'll pony up some cash for Masters tickets.

I think Mondays run about $750-850 now, Tuesday up around $1000+, and everything else well north of that. Tuesday is the best value day as far as price + everyone will play that day. Fun atmosphere, can bring a camera, etc.

Before covid, $500 would have mostly covered a Monday and Tuesday was running $750. Prices are up a solid 50% since covid. Big picture, if you want this to happen, you'll need to bump that budget by a lot.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I could go up to $1000 for practice rounds. Hopefully the lottery works. I have several people trying for me too.

If you've convinced several people to apply for you as well, that about gets you up to "winning the Texas lottery" odds. Good luck.

This is probably about right, the odds for Masters tickets just aren't as good.

I'm convinced it's a sham. They probably lotto out like q0 tickets, everyone else has a connection or buys secondary.

I don't think it's a sham. ANGC has always done what it wanted and made no apologies for it. But there is no way of knowing how many tickets are actually available in the lottery. If I was guessing, they probably let 75,000 or so in each day. Of that, probably half are badge holders, members and their allocations, corporate stuff, etc. So, it's probably 30k or so up for grabs each day in the lottery with probably 10s of millions of entrants. At least that's my guess.

I got practice round lottery luck in 2017 and 2018. I had my household and my parents household entered, so one hit one year and the other hit the next.

After failing for several years before that, I decided to change things up and not get greedy. So I applied for 2 practice round tickets when they allow 4. Bam, i win in year 1 for my house and the next year my parents. Maybe pure coincidence, but I couldn't help but think there was something with the algorithm that improved my odds

It hasn't worked since, but I get the sense that the volume of applications has really exploded in the past 3 years

Btw, on the flight out in 2017, I sat next to a guy who had gotten them 9 times in 25 years. I'd been applying probably 7-8 years before that with no luck, but he was doing it back when you'd mail a letter to apply.

Had a buddy win Monday tickets this past lottery.

I feel like AGNC should make you pay for all the tickets you request up front. I know it's an accounting problem but I think it would really pare down the odds for people who want tickets to attend and not just to resell.
