Going to Cabo next week for a wedding and have time to play one round while there. Looking at playing either Palmilla or Cabo Real. Anyone played both and have a recommendation?

It's been a while, but from what I remember, Palmilla was all on the mountain side of the road and Cabo Real was on the ocean side of the road. Palmilla was in better shape and more interesting and Cabo Real was more boring country club but it was set on the ocean and you were able to get some good views.

Folks feel free to correct any of that.

There's a couple holes at Palmilla along the ocean. One really cool one with a great view from to box.

Sorry to highjack your thread; we are going in July and thought about playing Cabo del Sol "Desert" course or Solumar. I had some indications online that the desert course was under going renovations/changes and it was not in good shape. Anyone have any info?

Played both last summer. Solmar for sure. Cabo del sol is meh compared to the other public options. My Cabo rankings (that I've played, have timeshare at diamante)

Cabo ocean (private now)

Cabo real
Diamante Cardinal
Cabo desert

do NOT play cabo del sol desert, they ruined the course 6 of the holes were rebuilt the course is terrible now.

play Cabo real or Puerto los Cabos if you have a car, palmilla is a good option as well
