I'm looking to replace my driver and I don't really want to spend $600 on a new one. So I'll think I'll look at drivers that are a couple years old and buy off the used rack.

What drivers do you recommend from the last 2-3 years?

Thanks for the input. Next question, do you think I will have a lot to gain with one of these drivers over my existing driver? My existing driver is a Mizuno ST190.

I hit my driver well, I'm just wondering if any of the newer technology will give me some extra yardage.

That driver is only 4 years old... only way to really get something thats alot better would be to get porperly fitted.

Yeah. I tested quite a few drivers recently and there really isn't much change over the past few years. Variations between brands and models, but driver tech is incremental. So over a longer time period you see changes, but not worth an upgrade over 3-4 years.

Now, they're all much better than the Nike Sumo and old shaft I am still hitting from about 2008-2009. I just haven't pulled the trigger on any of them yet, but they were all significantly longer.

Agreed. I recently switched from a newer driver to newer driver, but I just happened to buy a 3 wood that I REALLY got along with. My OCD demanded I buy a driver that matched, and I used it as an opportunity to get fit into a better shaft after some lessons as well. In general if you hit a driver well, and it's less than 5 years old....just stick with it

Go get fitted but dont buy there. Look for your length and preferred Driver/set of clubs on Ebay.

The bag I put together is about 1/3rd of the cost of what it looks like and most of my clubs were new/barely used when I got them.

Maybe just look at getting fit for a different shaft. Good shaft fit can make a big difference.

Thanks, I was fitted for this driver. However, I didn't try a bunch of different brands. The store I got it from mostly sells Mizuno stuff. It's where I got fitted for my irons, then I started looking at drivers and didn't shop around.

I hit it just fine, I think part of me just wants a different driver for no other reason than it's different. Also, I'm not sure how good this Mizuno is compared to other drivers out there. I've hit my friend's driver's and feel like they have more pop (Of course that could just be in my head).

I'm sure it doesn't help my game, but I tell myself if I get a new putter, I'll be more apt to practice with it for awhile.

Buy new from last year. They are most all half off the $600 figure and you can get some under $250

Picked up a brand new Rogue from the pre-owned Callaway site for $250 a few weeks ago. They have other brands as well from trade-ins if you don't like their stuff.

I still love my TaylorMade M2. It still is comparable to the new stuff with distance. The shaft has more to do with distance in my book. Once you find a shaft that kicks with your swing, then put a head on it that suits your eye and don't look back! My .02 cents from an old long knocker.
