Anyone played Pecan Lakes lately? How's the course? Last year greens seemed pretty rough.

I played it in late April and it was in poor shape with some temporary greens being used. I haven't heard anything about it lately but I can imagine it's not any better.

As bad as they were last year, they're worse this year. A few aren't awful, some have temporary greens, and the ones in between probably should have temporary greens. Don't expect a true putt anywhere.

When I was a kid, I always had to mow our yards in the summer when my dad was at work. One time when I was 10-11 years old, I dropped the mower deck to the lowest notch and scalped a 10 yard diameter "green" in the front yard. Used a post-hole digger to make the hole and a marking flag in the center. Boy, I got in trouble for that one….

Anyway, to date, it's the closest thing to pecan lakes that I've ever played minus the green fees. Steer clear.

Yeah so I played this on sunday even after reading the first comment. Holy moly. Awful greens. But still charging $50 to play. Course wont be open for much longer at this rate. Wasnt anyone out there. But at least they spent a whole bunch of money on the pro shop reno. Dumb. Wouldnt recommend pecan lakes to anyone.

Wish there were another course in BCS people could play at besides a&m and briarcrest. You have to book a tee time a week in advance at briarcrest. A&m is slow and more expensive.

Yep it's a pure **** hole.

If you're looking for cheap golf nearby, go play the 9 hole course in Caldwell.

Slow, expensive for the quality, and IMO it's just not a very fun course to play.

or even Hearne. Cheap and definitely in better condition than Pecan Lakes.
