Any cooler place than Hell's Kitchen in Texas is clutch but I do love some mountain golf. Nothing like 85* highs, beautiful views and your driver doing an extra 30 yards to make you feel right!

We stayed in Golden CO which was a pretty cool town. Lots of good eats and a few bars. We played Fossil Trace and The Ridge at Castle Pines. Both courses were in awesome shape and really brought out the thinking game.

Anyhow, it was great to get away from the heat and enjoy some mountain/foot hills air. Highly recommend!

Great timing on this post. My buddy just moved to Castle Pines and I'll be headed up there from Houston in September and I was going to see if anyone had any course recommendations since he doesn't play.

Agree. Played Haymaker in Steamboat Springs a couple weeks ago. Weather was glorious.

I'm headed to Grand Lake at the end of September to get a round or two in. I'm sure it'll still be as hot as can be in Texas, so I am looking forward to it!

We were also in Denver for guys golf trip last weekend. Curious as to how early you booked tee times for Fossil Trace & Ridge. We tried booking 4 weeks out for Thursday/Friday tee times and everything was completely booked for Fossil Trace, Ridge, and Arrowhead.

Ended up playing Bear Dance and West Woods.

I didn't book but I know we tried Arrowhead a month out and couldn't get it. We also played Ridge at 1:00 so that may have helped.

Here are the pics from Bear Dance. Would definitely play again. West Woods was a good course, but was closer to town so wasn't the mountain/scenic golf that you think of when you think of golf in Colorado.
